Paks Nuclear Power Plant Ltd. (Paks NPP) held its traditional Family Day on 4 September. At this event the employees of Paks NPP and Atomix Ltd. had an opportunity to present their workplace to their family members.
Paks NPP organised a Family Day first in 2001, where 500 people attended. This year almost 2000 guests were welcomed.
During the first part of the day there was an opportunity for all ages to visit the site by a little train, and adults could bike or walk through the operating site. During the site visit the guests could visit also the Museum of Nuclear Energetics, while several colourful programmes were available for children in the park in front of the Information and Visitors’ Centre, such as craftsman activities, euro bungee jumping, face painting, fishing at the fountain, smoke tent, sumo, artificial bull, wall for climbing. The photo exhibition of Bálint Vincze titled as ‘In the bosom of the nature’ could be visited during the event.
Thanks to the good weather, firemen gave a big surprise for children with the torrent of foam in the middle of the day. Then all guests were invited for lunch: the menu was goulash soup and donuts with marmalade. The programmes of the Family Day were closed with the surprise concert of a Hungarian singer, Nicolas Takács.
