After the accident in Fukushima, stress tests were performed by each EU Member States with operating nuclear plant as well as by Ukraine and Switzerland in 2011 in order to assess the resistance of nuclear power plants against external threats. In European comparison the Hungarian nuclear units successfully passed the test already during this occasion, defects that could mean high risk on security, were not identified by the investigation. The action plan for the further enhancement of the safety standards gained the appreciation of the European professionals, and practically the work of Hungarian experts was recognized without criticism. In April 2015 implementation status of decided measures was examined. Hungary sent the related report to the European Commission in December 2014 that was also published on its website. The reviewers did not comment the report, two measures were evaluated as good practice, which can be considered as an excellent result and as the recognition of the work carried out together with Paks experts.
